Lawrence students, who were to go to Hiratsuka and Eutin in the summer, as well as their partners in Eutin and Hiratsuka, who were planning to come to Lawrence later, all had to learn that this year, for the first time in 30 years, there will be no student exchanges with our sister cities.

On Sunday, March 7, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m., the Governing Board of Sister Cities Lawrence invites members and friends to join in a trivia game. Time to create your team!

Given what is understood about Covid-19 at this time, the Sister Cities Lawrence Governing Board has adopted the policy to suspend travel of students from Lawrence to any sister city until the population of Kansas can return to “normal” as defined by the CDC.

Twenty people attended the Sister Cities Lawrence annual membership meeting held virtually on December 9, 2020. After a welcome by Chairman Bill Keel and the acceptance of the previous minutes and financial report, all committees gave summaries of the year’s events, or lack thereof because of the pandemic.
