Memberships
Anyone residing or working in, or in the vicinity, of Lawrence, Kansas are welcome to join. Membership covers the calendar year - January to December - and may be renewed beginning in November at one of the following levels:
Individual - one vote - $35
Family - two votes - $50 (required of families with students traveling on exchanges)
Corporate - $200 - Corporate” membership is open to any organization or business enterprise that endorses the purpose of Sister Cities Lawrence. One designated representative may attend meetings and functions, with rights and privileges of an individual member, while registering annually with the treasurer.

Sister Cities Lawrence has IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit status and membership and donations are deductible as allowed by law. (Zeffy manages online payments for non-profits and will ask if you want to volunteer a donation to them to cover their fees.)

The annual business meeting, which all members are encouraged to attend, usually takes place in early December.
Travel-group payments
Participants in exchange groups must first become members (@ family rate) using the process above.
The travel fee is based on an approved budget developed by the committee & chaperone and approved by the SCL board. Components include airfare and excursions divided equally among participants. Full payment is due prior to departure. Payments may be made in total, or spread out at intervals over several months (i.e. from December to April for a summer trip).
