Our Purpose
To encourage people in Lawrence, Kansas, and each sister city to understand each other as individuals, as members of their community, as citizens of their country and as part of the family of nations.
Sister Cities Lawrence is a non-profit organization fostering relationships between residents of Lawrence, Kansas, USA and each of its three sister cities: Eutin, Germany; Hiratsuka, Japan; and Iniades, Greece. This is accomplished through cultural and educational exchanges, thereby making life-long friends.

Our Sister Cities
Eutin
(“Oy-TĒEN”)
Our German sister city, Eutin is located in the northern state of Schleswig-Holstein, not far from the Baltic Sea and 30 miles north of Lübeck.
Hiratsuka 平塚市
(“Hē-rah-tskah”)
The scenic seaside city of Hiratsuka boasts a 2.5 mile coastline on the Sagami Bay of the Pacific Ocean, and is approximately one hour from Tokyo, the home of the next Summer Olympics.
Iniades Οινιάδες
(“Ē-nē-AH-thes”)
Our Greek Sister City of Iniades is one of several small towns within the municipality of Messolonghi, the prefecture capital with approximately 13,000 inhabitants.
